Goniometer
Karn Scientific's goniometer is ideal for measuring the bi-directional reflectance distribution function (BRDF) of a target when paired with a suitable spectrometer.
The instrument can position a fibre at a range of altitude and azimuth angles relative to a target, with positioning accuracy of 0.5˚ achieved using two stepper motors with built-in encoders. A separate tilting lamp mounting mechanism permits a range of illumination angles to be used.
A benchtop control unit allows the user to easily set the desired observation angle using a range of selectable angular step sizes.
Feature | Specification |
---|---|
Angular positioning ranges | Altitude: 0 - 90˚, azimuth: 0 - 180˚ |
Angular positioning step size | 0.5˚ |
Maximum observation target diameter | 400 mm |
Fibre view distance to target | 280 mm |
Compatible spectrometers | Designed for operation with the Malvern Panalytical ASD system, but customisable for compatibility with a range of fibre based spectrophotometers |
